What is ALISON, ABC IT?

ALISON, ABC IT (ALISON Basic Computing Information Technology) is an online course that introduces beginners to IT literacy. ABC IT will teach you the very basic concepts of computing and it shows you how computing can be an everyday use.  

Accessing ALISON, ABC IT

1. You will need to click on the link http://alison.com to access the login/create an account page.
2. You will need to locate the box on the right hand side that says "Start your free learning today".
3. For your first time you will need to register. You will be asked to type in your first
      and last name, an email address, create a password (something you can remember, or course!), your city and your country.
4.  Lastly, you will click on the "sign-up" button.

What Next?

Once you are registered you can begin your computer introduction. You will be asked to log in with your user name/email address and password. Next you will be asked to accept the terms and conditions. After you will locate and click on the ABC IT box. Then you will click on the "Start" button. Start with the ABC IT- Instruction first and then work your way through. Good Luck!

To be welcomed into the Distance Learning Program, you must complete all of the following trainings on ALISON:

• ABC IT Literacy
• Gmail
• Intro to Information Technology
• Typing Skills (optional)

Notes: You do not have to enroll in a group or enter any special keys.  When you complete the assignments, a record is saved to your account.  You may then either print out your certificates (which are nice to have anyway), or you may Download your ALISON Learning Record.  This will be a pdf document that you can either print out or email to allison.harris@temple.edu.
